Congratulations to Tylar Pruiksma, a 7th grader at FSA, and the Roswell Jr. Hornets 7th Grade Girls Basketball Team. The team won the Walton/Pope Holiday Basketball Classic on Jan 2, 2009 and did not lose a game the entire tournament! Tylar is pictured with her team on the first row at the end right. |

Erika West appeared at Carnegie Hall in New York City on Saturday, November 7th, 2008. Erika preformed a solo from the Broadway show "Thoroughly Modern Millie". She also sang various Broadway hits with others from The Atlanta School of Preforming Arts. Congratulations to Erika on her NYC début!!

On Saturday November 1, 2008, FSA Chess players attended the NACE November McMahn Swiss Tournament in Marietta. Brennen Bukovics, Ahmed Mostafa and Aditya Melkote represented FSA at this open tournament and competed against others in their age groups as well as adults. Brennen came in 2nd place in the tournament (went up 88 rating points), Ahmed tied for 3rd place in the tournament (went up 97 rating points), and Aditya tied for 1st
place in the U1200 category (went up 68 rating points). All FSA players walked away with cash prizes! So all three of our FSA students won money and inceased their chess ratings!!! |

Erika West to appear on TV!! MONDAY SEPTEMBER 29th @ 9:00 pm. "One Tree Hill" television show on the "CW Network" (which is Channel 9 if you have CHARTER Cable TV). She will be in a cafe scene being given menus by a waitress. She is sitting in a booth next her "brother and across from mother and father". Please tune in to see Erika!!!

We are proud of 8th grader, Raja Selvakumar. He has been awarded with the All American Scholar Award for the year 2007-2008, second year in a row by United States Achievement Academy. In addition to this, Raja has been selected for the National Young Leaders State Conference for 4 days in Atlanta. Congratulations!

8th grader, Joey Krafchick recently competed in the National School Scrabble Championship in Providence, RI. The event was televised on ESPN on three different days.
