metropolislogo.jpgInspired by the courage of her young cousin in South Africa who is currently living with HIV, 6th Grader, Shannon Roux will lead an AIDS awareness function.

 Did you know…

  • There are about 33 million people living with AIDS right now
  • About 15 million kids have been orphaned because of AIDS
  • By increasing awareness and funding, we CAN put a stop to the spread of this disease

Yes, YOU can make a difference!

The best thing we can do to help is to raise awareness and this is why the children of Charlie’s Port ask you to join us in forming a human AIDS ribbon on Sunday, May 4th 2008 at Piedmont Park, between 12:00 and 4:00pm. Everyone is invited! So long as you are wearing red you can be part of the ribbon. We will also be selling special red T-shirts for $20.00 on the day or $15.00 before the event - all proceeds will go to the Elton John AIDS foundation.

Shannon belongs to a local group called Charlie's Port which is part of the Metropolis Port Theatre and Film organization.
