 Dear Students & Parents,
I can't believe how fast 1st quarter ended. I remember the orientation day we had on August as yesterday. 2nd quarter will start on Tuesday, October 14. Students will get their second connection class of this school year. Each student will be given a new schedule on Tuesday morning so that they know where to go for connection. I wish all of our students a wonderful 2nd quarter at FSA.
I would like to remind everyone about 2nd early release day which will be on Wednesday, October 15, 2008. Dismissal for bus riders will be at 12:46 and for car riders at 12:50.

This year, Fulton Science Academy is continuing a no-idling campaign to protect the health of our students and the health of our environment. In addition to restricting idling on school grounds by school buses, we are also asking parents to adopt a no-idling policy for personal vehicles.

 Rock Band Club Lock In
The FSA Rock Band Club will have a lock in on Friday, November 7 at 7:00 P.M. until Saturday, November 8 at 9:00 A.M. Rock Band members please take note and reserve these times on your calendars.

 This past Wednesday, seven FSA students, Turkish Teacher, Mr. Ahmet Karaslan and Principal Sener welcomed Kursat Tuzmen, Turkish Minister of State for Foreign Trade and Customs to Atlanta. Mr. Tuzmen is known for his success in Turkish export. Under his leadership during the past five years, Turkey's export increased from $36 billion to $150 billion. Mr. Tuzmen talked to our students both in Turkish and English. We truly enjoyed welcoming him to Atlanta. Turkish TV channels made news about this. Pictures can be seen below. Students attended are Axel Martinez, MacKenzie MacGruer, Averi Moore, Sophia Moesser, Frederic Moussa, Libby Riordan and Mary Shannon.

 Fall picture re-take day will be on Wednesday, October 15th. Interested students should bring their first picture packet to the photographer on Wednesday. If they missed our first picture day and are wanting to order for the first time, students should bring the form (given out on Monday, 10/13) including full payment and give it directly to the photographer. |

The 6th Annual Atlanta Turkish Festival will be held this Sunday, October 12, 2008 at the Gwinnett Convention Center. The festival runs from 12 PM to 6 PM. For details and directions go to www.turkishfest.org or Mr. Karaslan at 678-559-4036.
