Club Description

Academic Bowl* - Must receive signature from Ms. Cramb to participate. Students prepare for Academic

Bowl competition against other middle schools.


Advanced Basketball - Intramural basketball for boys and girls. More competitive, student must be skilled.


Band* - Students should have some musical background and MUST sign up for both Mondays & Thrsdays.


Beginners Basketball - Intramural basketball for boys & girls who are not as skilled but want to learn & play for fun.


Book Club* - Will start with the Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis. Students must purchase the 7 books.

If time permits will also watch the movie Shadowlands, and study other works. For 7th/8th grade only.


Championship Chess* - Taught by a Chess Master, and there is a $125 fee for the first semester.


Comic Book - Students will demonstrate their creativity through artistic expression.


Creative Writing - Focuses on writing for pleasure. Students will work to improve their creative writing skills.


Dance Team - There will be tryouts. Members will learn dance techniques to perform at school events.


Dissection* - 4 separate groups meet once a month. One or two groups will be an Advanced. Cost is $30.


Flash (A & B) - Students will learn how to do the Flash computer program.


Future City Design - An educational engineering club for 7th/8th grade that works with Sim City computer programs


Journalism - Students will write, design, edit & publish a school newspaper. Talents needed include: graphic

artists, writers, editors, organizers, proofreaders, and interviewers.


"Ketchup" Math - Math tailored to the needs of those lacking fundamentals. Open to all grades.







Lego League - An exciting and fun global robotics program that ignites an enthusiasm for discovery, science, and

technology.







Model UN* - Competitive team which takes on the role of a nation in a simulated UN Conference. Must have

approval from Ms. Miner to join.


Odyssey of the Mind* - A creative problem-solving program where you can build your own vehicle, create a balsa

bridge that holds hundreds of pounds, write your own script, create your own costumes and sets, and more!


On a Quest - An inquiry-oriented lesson format in which most or all of the information learned comes from the web.


Orchestra* - Students should have some musical background. Must meet both Wednesdays & Fridays.


Personal Fitness - Students will engage in a variety of exercise regimens (yoga, Pilates, kickboxing, aerobics).


Puzzle - Students will work to solve various types of puzzles.


Rock Band* - Students must audition & should attend both days. Students practice in "bands" for performances.


Science Fiction - Will explore Science Fiction books and movies for a greater understanding of the genre.


Study Skills/Homework - Students will do homework and receive help with notebook & locker organization.







Turkish - Introduces students to the Turkish language and culture to prepare for Turkish Language Olympics.







Web Design - Students will design web pages using Front Page or Dream Weaver programs.


Write it Down - Students write original works with the intent of being published regionally or nationally.


Yearbook* - Must receive signature from Mrs. Teeling before entering. Must commit to full year.







Young Politicians - Students will organize a mock election with simulated campaigns & debates.
