As the school year winds down, we request that you plan to pick up any medication or supplies your child may have in the clinic. All medications (prescription and over-the-counter), must be picked up by the last day of school, May 23rd. Any medication not picked up by May 23rd will be discarded as we cannot keep medications over the summer.

Governor Perdue declared May 5-9 “Charter Schools Week” in Georgia through a proclamation. In the Governor’s proclamation, FSA and several other charter schools are highlighted as exemplary charter public schools in the state of Georgia. Congratulations to our students, parents and staff members for continued success as a quality school of choice in our community!

FSA Eighth graders went on a tour of South Georgia from May 2- 4, 2008. Fourty eight students, three teachers and two father-chaperones embarked on a three day, 800 mile adventure around the state.

Acclaimed author Vivian Vande Velde is coming on May 12th to speak to our students. Students will be able to order several of the many books that this author has written.

Seventh grader Joey Krafchick and scrabble partner Dorian Hill of Chamblee Middle School will be representing Georgia in the National School Scrabble Championship this Friday and Saturday in Providence, Rhode Island. Good luck !

The FSA Spring Concert was held in the cafeteria this past Monday. Stirring performances were given by our Sting Orchestra and our Brass and Wind Band, Rock Band Club members and "The Citations".

Piedmont Park was ablaze with red Sunday May 4th when a group of children from the Charlie’s Port theater ensemble took AIDS awareness into their own hands, forming the first annual “Human AIDS Ribbon.”

Dear Parents of TAG students, The annual TAG review is designed to check student performance towards the end of the school year. Students are asked to write their noteworthy achievements and give this form to Mr. Akgul to get his signature by the designated dates listed below.

Dance Team meets on Tuesdays from 3:50pm 4:50pm. The Dance Team is currently working on a routine to perform at the School Talent Show. For information about joining next year's dance team, please see Mrs. Pinkerton or Mr. Conrad.

FSA hosted its annual class reunion for the Class of 2007 on Saturday, April 19th 2008. More than fifty FSA Class of 2007 students attended and all were so excited to see their friends and teachers after a year. They shared their stories about high school life and talked about their current achievements.
